It seems like West Highlands isn’t the only neighborhood where newly proposed developments are threatening to push the current skyline. According to the Denver Post, Western Development Group is pushing to change zoning in Cherry Creek North which would allow them to build an eight story, 70,000 square foot office building on the corner of Columbine and Second Avenue.
While Cherry Creek North is certainly denser and has larger, newer buildings than West Highlands, the concerns being raised by residents of both are similar: increased density will result in serious traffic for areas already facing traffic difficulties. In addition, the overall appearance of the neighborhood will be forever altered which has residents up in arms as well.
